ICFRE–RFRI Jorhat Recruitment 2026: 3 Project Assistant Posts, ₹22,000 Salary, Walk-in Interview on August 13
The ICFRE–Rain Forest Research Institute (RFRI), Jorhat, under the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), has announced recruitment for 3 Project Assistant posts under externally funded and consultancy projects.
Eligible candidates can appear for a walk-in interview on August 13, 2026, at the ICFRE–Rain Forest Research Institute, Jorhat. The interview will begin from 9:30 AM onwards, while candidates are required to report between 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM.
Vacancy Details
A total of 3 Project Assistant (PA) positions are available under two different projects.
1. Project Assistant – 2 Posts
The first project is “Assessment of the Demand and Supply of Medicinal Plants and their Raw Material at National Level including Global Perspective.”
The project is funded by the National Medicinal Plant Board (NMPB) and is initially for a period of six months.
Eligibility: Candidates must have a First Class Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following disciplines:
- Botany
- Forestry
- Zoology
- Chemistry
- Agriculture
- Life Sciences
- Geography
Desirable: Willingness to work under field conditions is desirable.
2. Project Assistant – 1 Post
The second project involves the Preparation of Revised Regional Wildlife Plan, Biodiversity Management Plan, and Carrying Capacity Study for Makum Coalfield in Assam.
The project is funded by North Eastern Coalfields (NEC), Coal India Limited (CIL), Mergherita , and is initially for six months.
Eligibility: Candidates must possess a First Class Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Botany
- Forestry
- Zoology
- Chemistry
- Agriculture
- Life Sciences
- Geography
Desirable: Willingness to work in field conditions is desirable.
Age Limit
The upper age limit is 25 years for Project Assistant posts as on July 1, 2026.
Age relaxation is applicable as follows:
- SC/ST/Women: Up to 5 years
- OBC: Up to 3 years

Documents Required
Candidates are required to bring the duly filled application form along with attested copies of educational qualifications, experience certificates and other relevant documents.
Candidates must also carry:

- Age proof certificate
- Caste certificate, wherever applicable
- Original certificates for verification
- NOC from the employer, if working with a government/public sector/autonomous organisation

Important Conditions
The Project Assistant positions are purely contractual and temporary and will remain co-terminus with the respective projects.
The recruitment does not guarantee subsequent employment in any institute under the Council.
No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in interview.
The institute has also stated that canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification.
