CAU – Imphal Invites Applications for Undergraduate Seats Under Self-Financed Category

The Central Agricultural University (CAU), Imphal has invited online applications for admission to various Undergraduate (UG) programmes under the Self-Financed Category (SFC) for the 2026–27 academic session. A total of 63 seats are available for eligible Indian nationals across constituent colleges of the university located in Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Tripura, Nagaland, and Sikkim. The admission notification was issued on 24 July 2026, and the online application process will remain open from 27 July to 22 August 2026.

Undergraduate Programmes Offered

Admissions under the Self-Financed Category are available for the following UG programmes:

  • B.Sc. (Hons.) Agriculture
  • B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture
  • B.Sc. (Hons.) Forestry
  • B.Tech. (Food Technology)
  • B.Tech. (Agricultural Engineering)
  • Bachelor of Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc.)
  • Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.)

The seats are distributed among CAU’s constituent colleges across Northeast India, offering students an opportunity to pursue professional education in agriculture and allied sciences.

63 Seats Available Across Constituent Colleges

According to the admission notice, 63 Self-Financed Category seats are available across different colleges. The College of Agriculture, Imphal offers the highest number of seats (15), followed by seats in colleges located in Pasighat, Kyrdemkulai, Lembucherra, Jalukie, Selesih, Ranipool, and Bermiok.

Admission Based on CUET (UG) and NEET (UG)

The university has specified that admissions will be based on the following entrance examinations conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

  • NEET (UG) 2026 – For B.V.Sc. & A.H.
  • CUET (UG) 2026 – For B.Sc. Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, B.F.Sc., B.Tech. (Food Technology), and B.Tech. (Agricultural Engineering).

Selection will be made strictly on the basis of merit, subject to the eligibility criteria prescribed by the university.

No Reservation Under Self-Financed Category

The university has clearly stated that reservation policy will not be applicable for admissions under the Self-Financed Category (SFC). All candidates will compete purely on merit.

Application Fee

  • General / Unreserved: ₹500
  • OBC (NCL) / EWS: ₹400
  • SC / ST / PwBD / Third Gender: ₹250

Candidates will also have to pay applicable processing charges and GST.

Tuition Fee and Financial Benefits

For most UG programmes, the first-year admission fee has been fixed at ₹57,940, while the B.V.Sc. & A.H. programme carries a first-year fee of ₹2,62,180.

Students admitted under the Self-Financed Category will not be eligible for university scholarships or any financial assistance. However, they will receive academic and campus facilities at par with regular students.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have passed 10+2 (Science) with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.

  • PCB is mandatory for B.V.Sc. & A.H.
  • PCM is required for B.Tech. programmes.
  • Agriculture / PCB / PCM / Inter-Agriculture combinations are accepted for the respective B.Sc. programmes.
